Senior Photo Collage – An AVHS Tradition!

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MAY 5th at midnight!

Each year, parents of seniors create a photo collage of their graduate that will be on display at both the Senior Breakfast and Grad Night. Students and their friends will be able to look at them during both events and it will be sent home with them as a keepsake. This is a long-standing tradition at AVHS, and with your help, we hope to have 100% participation for the Class of 2017!

Guidelines for creating a memorable Senior Photo Collage:

1.  Select your favorite photos of your student from birth though senior year. They can reflect your child's interests, family, friends, pets, sports, travel, school activities, special events, etc

2.  For the layout, there are three options (choose one below). All collages should be arranged in a horizontal (landscape) format for ease of mounting.

  • Electronic Online Option - You can develop your collage online using the Costco Photo Center or Snapfish. Use the photos already on your computer and/or upload new ones. The program will help you create a collage. It costs approximately $3.99. (Use the 12x18 template, which is closest to the 11x17 size.)
  • Digital Print - You can create a collage using PowerPoint (or similar program), export to a JPEG or PDF and then upload it somewhere to print, such as FedEX (Kinkos), or Costco. Note: Kinkos will not reproduce professional portraits such as graduation sittings. Be sure your collage is printed on durable photo paper or laminated to avoid damage.
  • Manual Option - Start with an 11x17 sheet of paper (horizontal). Two pieces of 8-1/2 x 11 paper, taped together, will work as well. Then secure photos to the paper with double-sided tape or scrapbook adhesive. You can embellish the collage with stickers, captions etc. Have your collage laminated. This is VERY important so we don't lose any photos, or have collages fall apart during transport.

3.  Your student’s full name and phone number MUST be on the back of the collage so it can be given to your student after Grad Night.  Their name should also be somewhere on the front of the collage so it is easier to identify their collage when displayed.

4.  Deliver the collage NO LATER than May 1st: to Linda Pipe at 5122 Black Ave (across from Walnut Grove Elementary). Place the collage in the box labeled "AVHS Collages" located on the front porch. You can also turn in the collage at the AVHS front desk. Boxes will be out at both sites starting April 1st. If you have any questions, Please contact Linda Pipe.
